Oberlo is an extension for Shopify which streamlines the process of drop-shipping and simplifies it.
It helps people import products right into their Shopify stores from AliExpress with a couple clicks. And so it has become an essential part of any drop-shipping venture.
Today, we’ll look at its chrome extension in particular, why it is so useful, its features and then how to actually install it.
What Is Drop-shipping?
Firstly, what actually is drop-shipping?
Drop-shipping is a business model where the company selling the products to the consumers don’t actually hold any stock. But deliver it straight to the customer.
Essentially the retailer is just a middleman advertising the product, whilst the actual product is shipped from where it is made straight to whomever orders it.
It is a very big thing in online e-commerce as it holds no risks in terms of having to buy lots of stock, and people can start right away with just a Shopify store.
As well as this the products bought tend to be from China where they are much cheaper. Websites like AliExpress and Alibaba are very big in the drop-shipping world.
Oberlo comes in as the software which automates you finding products somewhere and then placing them on your store.
In particular its chrome extension is very useful: so, let’s take a closer look.
